3 Must Know Classic Cocktails for Every Islander

Nothing sets the mood quite like a nice cocktail. Especially if you're hosting a brunch, having a dinner party, or just have your galls over for a weekend rendezvous, knowing how to whip up these classic cocktails is a must as an islander.
Those who know me, know I live for a good cocktail!
Here are 3 classic drinks that every islander should know how to make.
Mimosa – Brunch Babe

The famous Mimosa. Nothing says “weekend brunch” quite like this bubbly delight. Back home, we might be sipping it beachside at Saint Tropez Beach Club, but here in Europe, it’s the perfect way to add a touch of the tropics to a city brunch. A Mimosa combines champagne (or a good Prosecco) with chilled citrus juice, usually orange juice. But I myself love to top the champagne of with passion fruit juice (literally obsessed)!
After that you can go ahead and garnish with some fresh fruit, I love a good frozen berry mix to keep the drink cold as well.
Island Insider Tip: For the best Mimosas, choose Cava from Spain or Prosecco from Italy. These sparkling wines are affordable, dry & pair perfectly with the juice.
Mai Tai – Sunset

When we crave the vibrant flavors of the tropics, a Mai Tai is our go to. This famous Tiki cocktail, with its mix of rum, orange Curaçao liquor, fresh lime juice, and orgeat (a delightful almond syrup), is like a sip of island paradise. It even had its moment of fame in Elvis’s “Blue Hawaii,” making it a drink that’s steeped in island lore.
Mojito – Refreshing Classic

The ultimate refresher, perfect for those warm summers. Its simplicity is its strength: some good rum, freshly squeezed lime juice, and all natural simple syrup, topped with a splash of bubbly water to keep it light and refreshing.
So, even though we’re miles away from the pearly sands, these cocktails help us keep that homey vibe alive. So, next time you have guests over, be sure to mix up one of these drinks, sit back, and let the flavors transport you back to the tropics.
Cheers, sunny girlies!
